Job description

Become a Tutor with TPTUTORS – Inspire, Support, and Transform Lives

TPTUTORS is on the lookout for passionate, skilled tutors to join our expanding team. As student referrals increase, we’re working hand-in-hand with Local Authorities and Schools to deliver personalised, high-quality tutoring across a broad spectrum of subjects and educational needs.

Your Role

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced tutors to provide part-time support—typically around 10–15 hours per week. However, we offer great flexibility, with some opportunities starting at just 1 hour per week, depending on demand.

We’re especially interested in tutors with a background in Special Educational Needs (SEN), though we also welcome applications from subject specialists in areas such as Business Studies, Languages, and more.

Tuition may be delivered:

  • Face-to-face – either at the student’s home or in a local public space such as a library or community centre.

  • Online – depending on what works best for the student and their family.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide one-on-one tuition tailored to meet each learner’s individual goals and challenges.

  • Create and deliver engaging lesson plans that promote academic progress, particularly in core subject areas.

  • Submit detailed session feedback via our secure online system after each lesson—this is essential for tracking progress, quality assurance, and payroll.

  • Monitor student development and adapt your approach to maximise impact.

  • Maintain clear and regular communication with families and TPTUTORS consultants, ensuring effective collaboration and early identification of any issues.

What We’re Looking For

  • A degree in Education, SEN, or a relevant field.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in teaching or tutoring.

  • Familiarity with the UK education system.

  • A track record of adapting instruction to support different learning styles and needs.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Working with TPTUTORS

  • Flexible, part-time roles – starting at 1 hour per week, with potential for more.

  • Positions are temporary but may continue for multiple academic years, often lasting until students secure school placements.

  • Schedule is largely self-managed and coordinated with families, though some sessions may require specific time slots.

What You’ll Need to Get Started

  • An initial Microsoft Teams meeting to discuss your background and onboarding steps.

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one – application link provided; cost covered by applicant).

  • A 10-year work history.

  • References covering the past 5 years.

  • Documentation: right to work in the UK, proof of address, any name changes, and a professional photo for your profile.

  • Overseas police check if relevant.

  • Safeguarding training (provided by us).

Why Join TPTUTORS?

Tutoring with us is more than a job—it’s a chance to make a real difference. You’ll empower students to overcome educational challenges, build their confidence, and achieve lasting academic success. Along the way, you’ll grow professionally, form meaningful connections, and witness the impact of your support firsthand.
