We are looking for a tutor to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 6 Looked After Child who is not currently in a school provision and requires 2 hours per day, every day.
The student will require cross curricular support, therefore someone who has experience delivering cross curricular support to children at primary curriculum level would be ideal. However, the student is not working at age related expectations and may be working more at academic Level Year 2. the child has SEN - ADHD and ASC. She is new to care and is currently livuing in a foster placement which is where we require the tuition to take place.
The student is extremely vulnerable and requires an individual with a very sensitive and nurturing approach at all times. The student will require a tutor to offer EYFS curriculum which includes playwork and creative activities rather than heavy academic support.
The ideal candidate for this will be:
- Someone with experience managing challenging behaviour and working with children who present with anxiety/behaviour difficulties
- Confident to plan and deliver work and activities (cross curricular), as this will NOT be set by a school, in particular at EYFS level
- Experienced with Attachment Disorder and trauma
- Able to provide a weekly feedback report to monitor progress and behaviour to support with a transition into a new school environment
- Able to liaise with Social Workers, Looked After Achievement Officers and schools
- Someone calm and patient with a nurturing approach at all times
