1:1 Tutor – Wellingborough Area
Location: Wellingborough and surrounding areas
Setting: Pupil’s home or school
Hours: During school hours, Monday–Friday
Position: 1:1 Tutor
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutor to provide personalised educational support to pupils in the Wellingborough area.
The tutor will work with pupils either at their home or within a school setting during normal school hours, delivering engaging and structured lessons based on the pupil’s individual needs.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching the UK curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or personalised learning support.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons independently.
- Excellent communication and classroom-management skills.
- A patient, reliable and supportive approach.
- An enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition tailored to the pupil’s needs.
- Follow the relevant UK curriculum and school learning objectives.
- Identify gaps in learning and develop appropriate support strategies.
- Build a positive and professional relationship with the pupil.
- Monitor and record pupil progress.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit the pupil’s learning style and ability.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers and school staff where appropriate.
- Help pupils develop their academic skills, confidence and engagement with learning.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- SEND or additional learning needs.
- Alternative provision.
- Supporting pupils who are unable to attend mainstream school.
- Working with pupils with challenging or complex needs.
- GCSE and/or Functional Skills preparation.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
