Job description

Join the TPTUTORS Team: Inspire Minds, Empower Progress, and Shape Futures

At TPTUTORS, we are more than an educational support provider—we are a nationwide community of passionate educators driven by the belief that every learner deserves personalized, impactful, and accessible academic guidance. Our mission is to close learning gaps, build confidence, and help every student realize their potential, one session at a time.

As the demand for tailored tuition continues to grow—particularly through referrals from Local Authorities and schools across the UK—we are actively expanding our team. If you're a dedicated tutor or teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in a flexible, rewarding role, we want to hear from you.

Why Tutor with TPTUTORS?

Tutoring with TPTUTORS is more than delivering lessons—it's about making a lasting impact on a student's life. Our tutors serve as mentors, motivators, and guides, helping learners overcome academic barriers and rediscover the joy of learning.

Whether you're a seasoned educator with a background in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a subject expert in fields such as English, Maths, Science, Business Studies, or Modern Foreign Languages, your expertise can transform a student's academic journey.

Your Role as a TPTUTORS Educator

As a tutor with us, you’ll support students in a 1:1 setting—either face-to-face or online—tailoring your approach to meet each learner’s unique needs.

Here’s what the role typically involves:

  • Flexible Commitment: Work between 1 to 15+ hours per week based on your availability and student requirements.

  • Versatile Locations: Sessions may take place in a student’s home, a local library, community centre, or via a secure online platform.

  • Personalized Instruction: Plan and deliver customised lessons aligned with each student’s goals, academic level, and preferred learning style.

  • Core Subject Support: Provide engaging, age-appropriate tuition—especially in key subjects like English, Maths, and Science.

  • Progress Tracking: Submit session notes and feedback through our secure system, supporting quality assurance, payroll, and communication with stakeholders.

  • Adaptive Teaching: Adjust methods based on student response and progress, ensuring every session builds confidence and delivers results.

  • Collaboration: Work in partnership with families, schools, and our internal team to maintain consistency and address concerns promptly.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome applications from a wide range of educational professionals but are especially keen to hear from individuals who offer:

  • A degree in Education, SEN, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring, ideally within the UK education system.

  • Strong command of differentiated instruction and the ability to adapt materials for varied learner needs.

  • Prior experience with SEN learners (highly desirable but not essential).

  • Excellent communication, empathy, and organizational skills.

  • A steadfast commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Working with TPTUTORS – What You Can Expect

  • Fully flexible part-time roles that grow with you—start with as little as 1 hour per week and take on more as placements arise.

  • Short-term and long-term opportunities available, including multi-academic-year placements tied to EHCPs, reintegration plans, or school transitions.

  • Freedom to manage your own calendar, while benefiting from our experienced team of consultants who provide placement support and ongoing guidance.

Your Path to Becoming a TPTUTOR

To begin working with us, you’ll need to complete the following:

  1. Initial onboarding meeting via Microsoft Teams for introductions and orientation.

  2. Hold (or apply for) an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service—guidance provided (applicant covers the cost).

  3. Submit a 10-year work history and two references from the last 5 years.

  4. Provide documentation including:

    • Proof of Right to Work in the UK

    • Proof of current address

    • Any name change documents

    • A professional headshot for your tutor profile

    • Overseas police check (if applicable)

  5. Complete safeguarding training (provided free of charge).

At TPTUTORS, you’re not just joining a team—you’re joining a mission. Here’s what sets us apart:

  • Be the difference in a student’s life, helping them grow academically and emotionally.
