Job Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday (Term time only)

Hours: 8:15-4:45

Are you experienced in working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Are you passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives? If so, we want to hear from you!

We are working with an independent special school, catering for up to 40 pupils aged 11 to 19 with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is currently looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Education Support Worker to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to effectively support pupils’ learning.
• Identify and coordinate suitable external providers for offsite activities or third-party collaborations, in agreement with the Headteacher.
• Set clear, achievable targets for pupils.
• Inspire confidence and motivate pupils.
• Serve as a positive role model for pupils.
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils.
• Participate in school events as required.

Essential Criteria:

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or equivalent.
• Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Ability to design and deliver a progressive curriculum using diverse teaching methods.
• Ability to build positive relationships within the school community.
• Proficient in the use of ICT.
• Demonstrates professionalism at all times.
• Possesses high levels of patience and tolerance.

• Applicants must be willing to undergo the following checks:
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (can be arranged via Teaching Personnel)
• Two most recent professional references covering the last 24 months
• Overseas Police Check if applicable (for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the past 5 years)
