Job description

Job Title: SEN KS2 Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Orsett

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one support and tailored teaching to Key Stage 2 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Deliver educational outreach sessions in line with individual learning plans
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Work collaboratively with schools, parents, and other professionals to support students' learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching or tutoring children with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the UK National Curriculum and assessment practises
  • Ability to differentiate teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training in SEN support or specific learning difficulties
  • Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other complex needs

Working Conditions:

  • This role is part-time, with flexible hours based on student needs
  • Work may take place in schools, community centres, or students' homes
  • Travel within the local area may be required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
