1:1 Tutor – Northamptonshire (Primary & Secondary Education)

Location: Northamptonshire (including Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby, Daventry, Towcester, Rushden, and surrounding areas)

Hours: Flexible – During School Hours

Pay: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience and qualifications

Contract Type: Part-Time / Flexible

Join Our Growing Team of Professional Tutors

We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced 1:1 Tutors to support primary and secondary-aged pupils across Northamptonshire. Working in partnership with a number of schools throughout the county, we provide personalised educational support to students who require additional academic assistance.

Tuition sessions take place during school hours and may be delivered in a variety of settings, including:

  • Pupils' homes
  • School settings
  • Local libraries

This is an excellent opportunity for qualified educators who are passionate about helping young people build confidence, overcome barriers to learning, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and tailored 1:1 tuition sessions.
  • Support pupils in core subjects such as English, Maths, and Science.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning needs.
  • Track and report on pupil progress.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, parents/carers, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK schools.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience working with primary and/or secondary-aged pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel across Northamptonshire.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous tutoring experience.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs, or those in alternative provision.
  • Ability to teach across multiple key stages.
  • Experience working with pupils who may be disengaged from mainstream education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
