Job description
TP Tutors are seeking educators who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives by achieving their academic goals and improving their attendance.
This role will require someone to work closely with students on a 1-1 basis, providing them with high-quality sessions in English and Maths, to maximise their potential, as well as improving engagement. This role will involve working with children outside of a mainstream setting.
You will be tutoring learners in their homes or local libraries, in and around Northampton.
Tutor Requirements:
- Professional Teaching Qualifications are preferred (Qualified Teacher Status, QTS).
- A strong subject knowledge of English and Maths, at a KS3 level.
- Experience of working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH and other additional needs
- An Enhanced Child Workforce only DBS on the update service, or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors (support for obtaining one will be provided)
This role involves:
- Planning, creating and delivering engaging sessions to children who are currently working below expectations.
- Applying a variety of behavioural strategies to ensure the children are engaged.
- Having an awareness of the child’s needs and interest, using this to create a child-centred approach to learning.
- Assessing pupils, providing constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes and planning next steps.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
