Job description

Job Title: KS3 Outreach Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Harlow

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tuition to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an outreach setting (learners home or local library).
  • Create engaging and interactive learning materials to support individual learning goals.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet their evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievements and progress.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly in English and Maths.
  • Understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Key Stage 3.

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of different learning styles and ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Training in specific interventions for supporting students with SEN in English and Maths.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time role, expected to work flexible hours.
  • Work primarily in an outreach capacity, travelling to student's homes or educational settings.
  • Opportunity to make a positive impact on the educational development of students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
