Job description

Job Title: GCSE Outreach Tutor

Job Duties:

The GCSE Outreach Tutor will be responsible for providing tailored support and tuition to students with special educational needs in English and Maths at the GCSE level. Duties include creating individualised learning plans, delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Strong knowledge of the GCSE English and Maths curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

A degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably with SEN students

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
  • Understanding of SEN support strategies
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional special education training or certification
  • Experience in delivering outreach or home tuition

Working Conditions:

This is a temporary part-time position based in Dagenham, Greater London, England. The tutor is expected to work flexible hours to accommodate student needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
