Job description

Job Title: KS3 Outreach Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Colchester.

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours.

£25 - £30 Per hour.

Job Duties:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group tutoring in English and Maths to Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Develop individualised learning plans based on students' needs and abilities.
  • Implement creative teaching strategies to engage students and promote academic progress.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support holistic student development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Specialist knowledge in teaching English and Maths to students with SEMH needs.
  • Experience working with Key Stage 3 students in an educational setting.

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in tutoring or teaching English and Maths.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the Key Stage 3 curriculum in English and Maths.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective classroom management techniques.
  • Training in behaviour management strategies.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, with flexibility in scheduling.
  • Work primarily in educational settings such as learners homes, local libraries or schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
