Are you a dedicated and compassionate tutor with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Tutor to provide personalised educational support to students in Buckinghamshire who are facing a range of learning challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Anxiety, or Emotional Based School Avoidance (EBSA). You will play a crucial role in helping students build confidence, improve their academic skills, and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and plan: Conduct thorough assessments of individual students to understand their specific needs, learning styles, and challenges.

  • Tailor schemes of work: Develop and deliver bespoke, flexible learning plans that support each student's academic progress and emotional well-being.

  • One-on-one tutoring: Provide focused, empathetic, and adaptable tutoring sessions to students with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, or EBSA needs.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the student's learning and support.

  • Monitor progress: Regularly review and track the progress of students, making necessary adjustments to learning plans.

  • Support students’ mental health and wellbeing: Use therapeutic and evidence-based techniques to create a positive and safe learning environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEN or SEMH needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, or EBSA.

  • Strong ability to assess, plan, and deliver personalized educational content.

  • Understanding of the social and emotional challenges that students with SEMH may face, and how to support them effectively.

  • Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, fostering trust and confidence.

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

  • Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or SEN support (e.g., QTS, SENCO, or a degree in Special Education or Psychology).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
