1:1 Tutor – Birmingham Area

Location: Birmingham and surrounding areas
Job Type: Part-Time / Flexible Hours
Working Hours: School hours (Monday to Friday)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting experienced and passionate 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Birmingham. Sessions will take place either in the pupil's home or within a school setting during school hours.

This role is ideal for educators who are committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, improve their confidence, and achieve positive educational outcomes.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a school, college, tutoring, or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to travel to tuition locations across Birmingham and surrounding areas.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, EAL, or other additional learning needs.
  • Previous experience delivering one-to-one tuition.
  • Experience working with pupils who are out of education, at risk of exclusion, or require alternative provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition sessions tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to support learner progress and engagement.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and attendance.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete session reports as required.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
