Job description

Job Title: English and Maths SEN Outreach Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Basildon

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £25 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an outreach setting (learners homes or local libraries)
  • Create individualised learning plans based on students' needs and abilities
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons to support students' academic progress
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure students' educational goals are met

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN
  • Proven track record of improving student outcomes

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN principles and best practises in education
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in an outreach setting, travelling to students' homes or community centres
  • Collaborative work with teachers, parents, and support staff

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
