Trainee Teaching Assistant/Secondary School in Newport/GBP10.20 Per Hour

Due to the set back from Covid 19 Teaching Personnel require a Trainee Teaching Assistant for a large mixed comprehensive school in Newport. The role will be Monday – Friday to start asap until the end of term. Having experience working or volunteering with children at secondary school age is desirable but not essential. Any experience will be considered. As this is a Trainee role, we will be looking at personality, transferable skills, and characteristics that we believe will make a successful TA.

This position has become available due to the set back of Covid. Due to the schools closing a lot of children will now be playing catch up. This means that Teaching assistants are required even more to provide that extra one to one support to assist with the day-to-day education of the students. The role will consist of helping students across KS3 and KS4 education, you will do this by building rapport with the students and understanding their educational needs to help assist them as much as you can. The role will require working along side the teacher and assisting with any duties and requirements they have.

The School is a large mixed secondary school-based Newport. The school has a capacity for 1450 pupils. The school has recently been redeveloped and benefited from a new GBP29 million school building. The school has state of the art learning facilities and equipment from interactive white boards to Apple mac computers.

Summary

  • GBP10.20 Per Hour
  • Monday – Friday
  • Newport Based Secondary school
  • You will be paid via PAYE meaning NO umbrella companies
  • Access to free CPD courses to help develop your skills

The Teaching Assistant must have:

  • Enhanced DBS
  • Registered with the education workforce
  • A minimum of core GCSE's
  • Available full time Safeguarding Trained
  • 2 recent references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
