Teaching Assistant, Cardiff
Role: 32.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday
Start: ASAP
Contract: Until July 2024, with the opportunity to take a permanent role.
Training Provided: Level 2 Safeguarding, Internal School Training
Pay: From £385/week
Teaching Personnel are looking for Trainee Teaching Assistants to work within a fantastic provision for Additional Needs in Cardiff.
As a Teaching Assistant, your role is to create and maintain a positive learning environment for the pupils you work with. You will be delivering emotional, behaviour and academic support to students aged 11 – 18, all of whom learn part or full time within the school’s specialised ALN Base. No previous TA experience is required for this role, however experienced TAs are also welcome to apply!
Role and Responsibilities:
- Supporting students aged 11 - 18 within the ALN department.
- Working on a 1:1 and small group basis with learners with Additional Learning Needs, primarily Autism and disengagement in school.
- Assisting the Class Teachers, and Senior Team, with managing pupil behaviour and monitoring process.
- Engaging learners using adapted curriculums and additional activities to create a positive learning environment for all.
An Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Only) and EWC Registration will be required before beginning this role. Support will be provided for those who don’t already hold these.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
