Trainee Teaching Assistant

No Experience Needed – Just a Passion for Education

Location: Caerphilly (CF83), South Wales – Secondary School
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:00pm
Pay: £500 per week (PAYE) with weekly pay
Start Date: 7 September 2026

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Trainee Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Caerphilly. No previous school experience is required. We'll provide the training, guidance, and support you need to succeed.

About the Role

You'll work within a mainstream secondary school supporting students aged 11–18, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.

You will support pupils with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Additional Learning Needs (ALN)

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

As part of your role, you'll also help deliver targeted intervention sessions twice a week, using resources and strategies provided through ongoing training and support.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to students

  • Encouraging confidence, independence, and engagement in learning

  • Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management

  • Supporting positive behaviour and implementing individual support plans

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Delivering structured intervention activities with guidance from experienced staff

  • No previous experience in education required

  • Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate and EWC registration (full support provided)

  • Ability to provide two professional references
