Location: Caerphilly CF81
Hours: Full-Time | Term Time Only | Monday–Friday, 08:30 – 15:00
Pay: £100 per day via PAYE weekly pay
Start Date: 7th of September 2026

You'll be joining a lively, inclusive secondary school in Caerphilly that is committed to ensuring every student reaches their full potential. Your Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional learning needs, both in and out of the classroom. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you'll help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
You'll:

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with additional learning needs

Adapt activities and explanations to meet individual learning styles and abilities

Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and social development
-
Encourage engagement, independence, and participation in lessons
-
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support strategies
-
Promote a calm, safe, and nurturing environment where students feel supported and understood
-
Celebrate progress and achievements, helping every student reach their potential
Who You Are
We're looking for someone who is:

Patient, empathetic, and genuinely committed to supporting young people

An excellent communicator with strong relationship-building skills

Flexible, proactive, and adaptable to the changing needs of students

Experienced in (or eager to gain experience in) SEN support, care work, youth work, coaching, or educational settings

Passionate about inclusion and making a meaningful difference in students' lives

DBS-checked (or happy to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
