Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time, Blackburn

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a real difference in their educational journey? We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant in Blackburn, where anyone can apply! No prior qualifications required, as we offer a Level 2 Teaching Assistant course, with free trial days to give you a taste of the role before committing.

Location: Blackburn
Position: Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a mainstream school environment
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support and interventions
  • Assist students with their learning, helping them access the curriculum in an inclusive setting
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with additional needs
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Help with the social, emotional, and personal development of students with SEN
  • Observe and track students’ progress and share relevant information with the team

What We’re Looking For:

  • Passion for working with children, particularly those with SEN
  • A positive, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting children's individual needs
  • A desire to develop your skills and grow in the field of special education
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with children, parents, and staff
  • No formal qualifications are required – we offer a Level 2 Teaching Assistant course
  • Enthusiasm to learn, develop, and gain valuable experience in a school setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
