Trainee Teaching Assistant – Monmouthshire
Location: Monmouthshire
Hours: 8:30am – 3:00pm
Pay Rate: £82.50 – £95 per day (dependant on experience)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Teaching Assistants to join secondary schools across Monmouthshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain hands-on classroom experience, develop key skills, and work towards recognised Teaching Assistant qualifications.
Whether you’re a recent graduate, considering a career change, or have personal experience supporting children or young people, we’ll provide full training and support to help you succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students aged 11–18.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Support students with additional learning needs (SEN) where required.
- Help create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
- Prepare and organise classroom materials and learning resources.
- Encourage student confidence, participation, and wellbeing.

- Passionate about education and helping young people reach their potential.
- Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships.
- Reliable, adaptable, and proactive in the classroom.
- Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service or willing to apply).
- EWC registration (or willingness to register).
- Able to provide two recent references.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Up-to-date safeguarding training (provided free of charge by Teaching Personnel).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
