Pay Rate: £82.50 – £95 per day (dependant on experience)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Teaching Assistants to join secondary schools across Monmouthshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain hands-on classroom experience, develop key skills, and work towards recognised Teaching Assistant qualifications.

Whether you’re a recent graduate, considering a career change, or have personal experience supporting children or young people, we’ll provide full training and support to help you succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students aged 11–18.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Support students with additional learning needs (SEN) where required.
• Help create a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
• Prepare and organise classroom materials and learning resources.
• Encourage student confidence, participation, and wellbeing.

• Passionate about education and helping young people reach their potential.
• Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships.
• Reliable, adaptable, and proactive in the classroom.
• Excellent communicators with strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service or willing to apply).
• EWC registration (or willingness to register).
• Able to provide two recent references.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training (provided free of charge by Teaching Personnel).
