Are you a dedicated, resilient and compassionate Teaching Assistant with Team Teach training? Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey?
We are currently seeking a 2:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking SEND school in Stanley. This role involves working closely with a Year 6 pupil who requires additional support due to complex needs and challenging behaviour. You’ll be part of a small, focused team providing consistent, structured support to help the pupil thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 2:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual learning and behavioural needs
- Implement strategies learned through Team Teach to de-escalate and manage behaviour effectively
- Support the class teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
- Work collaboratively with external professionals and the wider school team
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in SEND settings or with pupils presenting challenging behaviour
- Team Teach certification (essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience and resilience
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
