SEMH Teaching Assistant/Support Workers with experience in Autism (ASC)

  • Challenging and rewarding career working with vulnerable children with SEMH needs

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Teaching Assistants with relevant experience of working with children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) as well as Autism (ASC). We offer a range of opportunities at schools with a supportive team, where you will be able to build relationships with staff and pupils. Working with children with SEMH and/ or Autism is an extremely rewarding role, one which requires patience and dedication to both the team which you are working in as well as the pupils.

The main key is to be proactive and have a resilient nature to the role. You need to be patience and bid up good, strong, working relationships with pupils. Most pupils struggle with social interaction and have issues based at home. You need to know how to build up friendships with pupils and gain pupils trust.

Experience of Makaton or Team Teach would be an advantage. If you enjoy the challenges of working with children of all ages and abilities, we would like to hear from you. If you require any additional information regarding this position please don't hesitate to contact us.
