SEN Support Assistant

Calling all recent Graduates with special needs experience for Special School positions in North London starting in September 2020!

The school in Neasden are having new pupils start in September and are eager to appoint special needs experienced graduates for 1:1 support position in KS3/KS4. The graduate SEN support position will be in a small class of up to 8 pupils diagnosed with complex autism, severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities.

You will be joining a great and experienced team in Brent supporting children 1:1 with their learning and therapy programmes.  Children in this class will be non-verbal and use alternative communication tools (PECS, TEACCH and/or Makaton) and need support with personal care (toileting).

This Learning Support Assistant job is full-time starting in September 2020 and will be for an academic year minimally. The school are looking to appoint graduate SEN Support Assistants who can commit to long term work, is open to training and permanent opportunities.

The ideal applicant will be:

  • A recent graduate with UK recognised degree
  • Experienced supporting autism, speech difficulties and/or social and emotional needs (SEMH) long term
  • Experienced working in schools, educational or healthcare settings with children
  • Able to demonstrate excellent behaviour management and communication skills
  • Able to be creative and innovative in the classroom with your support of children
  • Able to work full-time in Ealing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
