A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bedford is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their outstanding Specialist Unit team. This is a unique chance to become part of a school community that is forward-thinking, kind, and genuinely values every member of staff.

The successful candidate will be someone who is positive, resilient, and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of children with SEND.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children within the Specialist Unit, promoting independence and confidence
  • Assist with the delivery of individual learning programmes and interventions
  • Support the class teacher in maintaining a calm, safe, and engaging environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external agencies
  • Celebrate every achievement and uphold the school’s inclusive values
  • Embrace ongoing training and contribute to a team who always go the extra mile

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • A nurturing, patient, and flexible approach
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and a good sense of humour
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • A willingness to learn and develop professionally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
