Are you a graduate or looking for a change in career, and want to gain classroom experience?

If you have a passion for caring and nurturing young learners and want to work with children with SEN, or are even looking to gain more classroom experience to build your career, Teaching Personnel are hiring for Teaching Assistants in and around Greater Manchester to support students in classroom and 1:1 basis.

The responsibilities of the role are simple but challenging; supporting the learners in the classroom with their work and helping to simplify it in a way that helps them to understand. The children will have SLD, PMLD or ASC therefore knowledge of learning disability is essential to tailor your approach to their learning. A patient and calm personality is essential to help the students feel relaxed.
Other duties may include 1:1 work with specific pupils, either mentoring behaviour or extra assistance with work, or even sensory and speech development. You may also be required to do moving and handling and some personal care, so training and experience in these areas is preferable.
Teaching Personnel are able to offer training opportunities through our CPD academy such as Moving and Handling and Safeguarding. Most courses cost a reduced rate or are free, so are very helpful for those wanting to improve their skill set and open up more opportunities for work.

The SEN schools we work with approach the curriculum in an engaging and kinaesthetic way which best suits the learners, and the students work in small groups so they can have the most focused and undivided attention from their teachers and TA's.

You can expect this role to be very gratifying as you build relationships with young learners and see their progression.

About Teaching Personnel;

Teaching Personnel can offer a number of benefits such as:

  • Sector specialist consultants in SEN, Primary and Secondary who have backgrounds in education and teaching
  • 80% off training courses through our unrivalled CPD Academy
  • Exclusive access to our PSA Schools, who use us as their preferred staffing supplier
  • Online access to payslips, diary and time sheets
  • Weekly wages through PAYE; your quoted earnings will be your exact take home pay and 12.7% holiday pay inclsive in the hourly rate

If this sounds like a role you could really excel in, please apply with your CV.
