About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, caring, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in Leeds (LS10). This is a full-time temporary position, perfect for someone passionate about helping children with special educational needs (SEN) achieve their full potential.
You’ll work closely with teachers and the SENCo to provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities ✏️

Support pupils with a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties).

Provide one-to-one or small group interventions tailored to individual learning plans.

Assist the class teacher with differentiated lessons and classroom management.

Foster an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment.

️ Help monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to the teacher and SENCo.

Support communication and social development.

️ Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.
Person Specification
Essential:
✅ Experience working with children with special educational needs.
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
✅ A patient, caring, and proactive attitude.
✅ Good literacy and numeracy (GCSE English & Maths or equivalent).
✅ Commitment to inclusion and equality.
Desirable:
⭐ Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
⭐ Training in specific SEN areas (e.g., Autism Awareness, Makaton, Team Teach).
⭐ Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plans).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
