SEMH / SEN(D) Teaching Assistant
Location: Frome, Somerset

SEMH Teaching Assistant – Opportunities via Teaching Personnel

If so, we have an excellent opportunity for an SEMH / SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Salisbury and make a meaningful impact every day!
The Role:
You’ll play a key part in helping classroom teachers provide exceptional support to students between the ages of 5-18 years old. The pupils at this school have primary diagnoses / additional needs of the following:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties
- Attachment Difficulties
- Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
- Specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and Dyscalculia
All pupils have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP), and many pupils join after struggling in mainstream education and require therapeutic and trauma-informed support. This is an independent SEMH school with an Ofsted grading of “Good”.
Who We Are Looking For:
- SEMH knowledge and experience
- SEND knowledge and experience
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
- Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
Working Hours/Benefits:
- Full Time
- Monday-Friday
- Term Time Only
- 12.07% Holiday Pay

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
