Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bedford
Salary: £85 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Term time only)
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (flexible up to 45 minutes)

About the Role
We are working with a cutting-edge special school set to open fully in 2026, accommodating up to 200 pupils aged 2 to 19. The school specialises in educating children with profound, multiple, or complex learning difficulties, including autism and communication needs. It’s committed to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEN
- Assist pupils with learning during lessons and at break/lunchtimes
- Support the class teacher with everyday classroom tasks
- Help keep the classroom safe, clean, and organised
- Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all pupils
Who We’re Looking For
- No prior school experience required — we welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about working with children. The ideal candidate will:
- Preferably have experience supporting SEN pupils (not essential)
- Be reliable, patient, and committed
- Show initiative and be proactive
- Hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check via the Update Service
- Have permanent UK residency (mandatory)

Safeguarding Checks

- Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (arranged through Teaching Personnel if needed
- Two recent professional references covering the last 24 months
- Overseas Police Check if applicable (for candidates who have lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the past 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
