SEN Teaching Assistant – Opportunities via Teaching Personnel
Are you passionate about supporting children and young adults with special educational needs? If you answered yes, then this job opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant may be for you! A SEN school in Yeovil is seeking a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
The Role:
You will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers in providing excellent support and care to students ranging in the ages 4-19 years old, with various SEN needs such as Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASC), Non-verbal, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
You will be working closely with the classroom teachers and senior leaders to help create a nurturing, supportive classroom environment.

Who We Are Looking For:
- Applicant must be comfortable with Personal Care
- A patient, resilient, innovative and caring individual with a compassionate approach to supporting young people
- SEN(D) experience in or out of an educational setting
- Clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Able to collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff
- Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
- Comfortable working across different age groups
- Able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and safely
Working Hours/Benefits:
- Full time and part time availability applicants will be considered for this role, but must be able to work full school days
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday = 08:40 – 15:30
- Wednesday = 08:40 – 15:45

- 12.07% Holiday Pay
- Please note, this role is Term-Time Only

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
