Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of multiple SEN schools in Bournemouth who are looking for Teaching Assistants to join their team.
All schools aim to provide a friendly, caring environment for all children to reach their potential through high quality teaching and learning that supports the development of life-long learning skills, self-esteem and celebrates individual success.
Your duties may include:
- Attending to the pupils’ needs, and implement related personal programs, including social, health, physical, hygiene, and first aid and welfare matters.
- Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning.
- Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model, being aware of, and responding appropriately to individual needs.
- Prepare classroom as directed for lessons, clear afterwards, and assist with the display of pupils work.
- Support the teacher in managing pupil behavior, reporting difficulties as appropriate
You could be asked to work with young people with various needs and we will do our best to match your experience and preferences to a relevant school:
- Autism (ASC)
- Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD)
- Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia
- ADHD
- Complex needs (PMLD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH)
To be considered for these roles, it is essential you have experience supporting children or adults with special needs. We will also consider applicants with voluntary experience or experience supporting friends and family members with additional needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
