Teaching Assistant required for Burnley School (BB12)

A small Primary school located in Burnley are looking to appoint an experienced, upbeat Support Practitioner to join their warm and welcoming team. The role is to start in September 2019 and is on a temporary basis with the potential to turn into a permanent position. The role is to support the whole class and work with different ability groups, delivering Maths, English & Phonics interventions and support those who are not reaching 'age related expectations'. You are also required to support the children who are reaching 'above age related expectations' and deliver more in depth Maths and English interventions to ensure they are being furthered to their full potential. During the afternoons you will be out of class, working on a 1:1 basis with the children reading with them independently and delivering small Phonics preparation with year 1, year 2 & year 3 pupils.

The school is in an easily accessible location with nearby bus routes and a train station. The school is a top performing school with the majority of children working at age related expectations. After their recent Ofsted inspection they received an overall 'Good'. The Head Teacher has stated she has 'high expectations for her staff and pupils' and believes that 'a positive attitude is the main ingredient to make a School run smoothly'.

The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day, Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £9.5- -£10.50 per hour. Additional salary may increase depending on the interest of welfare.
