Teaching Assistant required for Burnley Primary School
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Working across Key Stage 2, predominately in Year 4
Must have a 'can do attitude'
Experience working with lower attaining pupils, children with SEN & EAL would be desirable.
A Primary school within the town of Nelson have approached Teaching Personnel in order to source a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant. The school are hoping to secure a forward thinking, committed & flexible Teaching Assistant who can provide effective support across the 'close knit' Key Stage 2 team. The role is due to start on September 2nd 2019 & continue on a rolling contract for the full academic year, with the possibility of the role being made permanent. The school use Teaching Personnel to source their Teaching/Teaching Assistant/Support Staff so they can implement a risk free, probation period. The cover will be mainly in Year 4 due to the levels of SEN within the Year 4 classes. The hours will be 8:45 - 3:15, Monday - Friday, with the option of a 30 minute welfare duty at dinner.
The reason for the cover is due to two members of staff handing their notice in to pursue a career in Primary teaching. This therefore creates a gap in the staffing.
The Head Teacher has been in her role for a number of years and has already had a positive impact on attainment, data, staff morale & retention. Staff who work through Teaching Personnel have said the school is a great place to work and the leadership team inspire a high level of learning & commitment across the school. The school is located in the heart of Nelson and has a high percentage of EAL children who attend school. Most of the children come from Urdu & Punjabi families; however they do have children from Bengali, Pushto & Eastern European backgrounds.
If this position is of interest I would highly recommend getting in contact myself at Teaching Personnel. I can be contacted on 01772 842154 or email
