Job Duties:
The Teaching Assistant PRU will support the educational and social development of students within the Pupil Referral Unit. This includes assisting teachers in delivering lessons, providing one-to-one support to students, and helping to maintain a positive learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have GCSE qualifications, a DBS Enhanced check, and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
Education:
Minimum of GCSE qualifications required.
Experience:
Prior experience in an educational setting is preferred but not essential.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups of students
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour
- Safeguarding
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional qualifications in education or child development would be advantageous.
Working Conditions:
The role involves working within a Pupil Referral Unit, which may require dealing with challenging behaviour and supporting students with various needs. The Teaching Assistant PRU may also be required to assist with off-site activities and transportation.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
