Teaching Assistant – Physical Needs Base
Location: Secondary School, Penarth Area
Contract: Full-Time (Starting 3rd November 2025 for the full academic year)
Daily Rate: £90 - £95 per day

We’re looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the vibrant Physical Needs Base at a lovely secondary school in Penarth. This is a full-time role starting in November 2025, offering you the opportunity to support, inspire, and enable young people to thrive both academically and personally.


What You’ll Do:

  • Provide compassionate, tailored support to students with diverse physical and additional needs.
  • Assist with personal care and manual handling (don’t worry if you’re not trained—we provide full training!).
  • Play a key role in helping students access learning and achieve their goals through Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff in a truly team-oriented environment.
  • Foster independence, build confidence, and encourage positive behaviour in every student.

About you:

  • You have personal or professional experience working with young people with physical and additional needs—and you understand the unique challenges and joys this brings.
  • Manual handling training is a bonus, but not essential – the school are happy to provide it.
  • You bring patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills to the role.
  • You thrive as a team player and adapt your approach to meet each student’s individual needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
