Teaching Assistant (Part Time)

Are you a Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

Then this could be the role for you!

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vivacious and hard-working staff. You will work with an ASC student on a 121 basis within an Integrated Resource Unit at a school in South Sheffield. The school has good public transport links, so owning a car isn't essential.

The ideal candidate will have some experience of working with SEN and will have outstanding inter-personal skills. You will need to be patient and sensitive with the ability to encourage and motivate children as well as being able to work effectively in a team. Experience of current phonics/Maths schemes will be advantageous, but not essential, as you will be supporting in core subject areas. We can offer additional training through our CPD Academy and will be running a Team Teach Course during the February half term holiday. You will need to take into account children's learning styles and what motivates them to stay engaged, using positive behaviour management.

Our ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will;

  • experience supporting children on the Autistic Spectrum
  • be patient and sensitive
  • be able to motivate children who are disengaged from their learning
  • be able to support in core curriculum areas
  • have GCSE English/Maths (A-C)

Teaching Personnel can offer you;

  • a dedicated, specialist consultant working for you
  • full time work
  • work with schools who work exclusively with Teaching Personnel
  • unrivalled CPD opportunities including Team Teach
  • support at interview stage with our experienced staff and interview guides
  • 20 years experience within Educational Recruitment working in partnership with a large number of Primary, Secondary and SEN Schools
  • £50 refer a friend scheme
