Teaching Assistant (Newcastle)

Pay Scale: £92.63-£105 a day (dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel are seeking compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work within schools across Newcastle. We are looking for individuals who want to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with a wide range of educational, behavioural and emotional needs.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students with a variety of additional needs, including:

• ADHD
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Sensory Processing Difficulties
• Physical Disabilities

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 support tailored to individual pupil needs
• Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom environment
• Assisting with small group interventions and differentiated learning activities
• Supporting emotional regulation and implementing positive behaviour strategies
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
• Adapting learning resources and approaches to meet individual needs
• Building positive relationships with pupils, families and staff
• Helping create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
