Teaching Assistant - North London

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a special needs school in North London for a teaching assistant to start immediately. This rewarding role will be supporting in a primary class of mixed special needs predominantly autism and behavioural needs; this will be providing tailored support on 1:1 basis and group support to cater to individual learning needs. The school aim to make students experience as stimulating as possible whilst challenging them to reach their full potential.

The successful applicant will have a good understanding of supporting students with autism and behavioural needs, be able to create a stimulating learning environment and promote students' own independence. Due to pupils needs you will need to be confident to support with behaviour management and have a positive personality!

The school is part of a large academy trust of schools with the opportunity for career development and secure a permanent contract across the academy.

Teaching Assistant attributes:

• Must have previous experience supporting with autism
• PECS or Makaton training is highly desired
• Able to deliver 1:1 support with students with special needs
• Confident with behaviour management
• Monday to Friday 8.30am -3.30pm during term time
• Able to commit to travelling to Leyton area daily
