Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant - Gateshead

Are you an enthusiastic and qualified teaching assistant who is looking for an opportunity to join a successful establishment?

Teaching Personnel, in conjunction with one of our client schools, are seeking a talented primary teaching assistant to join our team to work across KS2 within schools in the Gateshead area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified teaching assistant to change the lives of young learners within Gateshead and to work within a supportive, caring school environment where staff welfare is a key focus.

This role will include:

  • Working across all KS2 classes
  • A mixture of work focusing on individual, small group and whole class interaction
  • Assisting with the development of children on a social, emotional and intellectual level
  • Provide support for all children throughout the school where necessary
  • Communicate with the class teachers and SENCO to create specific strategies to help individual students
  • Help all learners to meet the national standards levels for numeracy and literacy
  • Help to create a positive, supportive learning environment for the children

Candidate Requirements:

The successful candidate will have experience working within a primary school environment, preferably as a teaching assistant working across KS2. In addition to this, the successful candidate should:

  • Highly motivated to help every pupil achieve their full potential
  • Willing to develop unique strategies to encourage and care for individual students
  • Passionate about the care and development of every child
  • Have experience with different phonics or numeracy schemes
  • Experience dealing with challenging behaviour from young children
  • Up to date knowledge of issues within the Primary National Curriculum and current issues faced by Primary school
