Job description

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a Welsh medium Primary School in North Cardiff who are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant for a tempoary position in September.  The school is a 3 form entry and has been graded 'Excellent' by Estyn, due to the numbers of pupils in September the school are looking for the successful candidate to join their Foundation Phase team. Teaching Assistants play a vital role in their school due to their focus on providing extra support for the pupils.

The school teaching and staffing team are very helpful and supportive and look forward to welcoming a new member to the team- this could be a permanent role for the right candidate.

Your role

You will be working mainly with a Reception class, providing support and encouraging academic progression for 90 pupils across three classrooms. You will need to be enthusiastic, friendly and patient, both inside the classroom and outside the classroom. You will be joining a highly supportive team of teachers who will ensure you feel welcome from day 1.  The candidate will need to have the confidence to take small groups however they will mainly be working on a TA basis. 

In order to be considered for this role you must have:

  • Qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • The confidence to lead small groups and entire classes when needed
  • A pro-active attitude to your role with the motivation and skill to plan activities
  • The ability to adapt quickly and work across year groups as and when needed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
