Join an innovative secondary academy in South Manchester to support students across years 7 - 11.

This role is suited to any experienced Support Workers, Residential Care Workers or candidates with experienced in supporting vulnerable or disadvantaged children. We also welcome applications from enthusiastic graduates looking to gain secondary school experience.

Highlights of this Teaching Assistant position:

  • Full time position supporting vulnerable and/or disadvantaged students one-to-one and in small groups
  • Immediate start (February 2020)

  • Located in South Manchester, accessible from the M60 motorway

This role will involve working with individual students identified as needing academic, behavioural and emotional support. The successful candidate will work with the schools Inclusion team and will be involved in the delivery of programmes of work and therapy sessions to promote a positive attitude towards learning.

We are looking for a caring candidate who will be able to motivate students and reinforce self-esteem. We encourage applications from Support Workers, Residential Care Workers or candidates with experience in supporting vulnerable or disadvantaged children.

This large secondary academy has been on an excellent journey in recent years and has been locally and nationally recognised for its significant improvements. In a recent Ofsted report, the academy was judged to be ‘Good’ with a strong and determined leadership team. Due to recent investments, the school now has excellent state of the art facilities including modern well resourced classrooms.

For those on public transport, the academy is easily accessible via public transport links from the city centre and surrounding areas. For those who drive, the academy is located a 20 minute drive from the city centre.
