ASAP – July 2022: General Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are recruiting a general Teaching Assistant, on behalf of our partnership school located in the PL1 area of Plymouth. This is one of our new using primaries, so we have lots of exciting opportunities coming up with them. We also support their Multi Academy Trust. 

Your role as a General Teaching Assistant will be to support the children who may need additional guidance with their learning. You will need to learn how you can build positive learning relationships with these Primary children, in order to help them develop throughout their education. You could also be working across the school in different year groups.

School information:

  • Ofsted Rated – Good
  • Age range 3 – 11 with 230+ on roll.
  • This school is slightly smaller than the average-sized primary school.
  • The proportion of disadvantaged pupils in this school, who are known to be eligible for free school meals, is well above average. Additional government funding, known as the pupil premium, supports these pupils.
  • The Early Years Foundation Stage is made up of part-time Nursery provision for three- and four-year-olds, and a Reception class.

Required for this role:

  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent
  • Available to work full time or part time between 8:30am and 3:30pm. (We will accept part time also due to job share opportunities)
  • Be committed to creating challenge, excitement, creativity and independence in learning
  • Be resilient
  • Experience working in a mainstream Primary school(desirable)
  • Experience working in a Nursery of Preschool setting (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
