Teaching Personnel are working with a Primary School in Pontefract (WF7) who are looking to appoint a KS2 Teaching Assistant to join their school in January 2021. This is a full time / fixed term contract which will start in January 2021 until July 2021 initially. 

Working as part of a dynamic and creative Key Stage 2 (KS2) team, the KS2 Teaching Assistant will focus on working with the Class Teacher and ensuring that all children in the class of 30 are making good progress. You will be required to work with small groups of pupils and on a 1-2-1 basis. 

The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has previous experience working in a Primary School and who is enthusiastic and confident working with KS2 pupils. This is a Junior School meaning you would be working from Year 3 - Year 6. 

In order to apply for this role, you must have the following:

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant in the last 12 months
  • Experience working with KS2 aged children (aged 7-11 years)
  • Experince working with small groups of children 
  • Be available to start full time work from January 2021
  • Reference information for the last six years
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable daily

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting children push their attainment to the next level
  • Being creative and using innovation to enhance the learning experience of all pupils
  • Assessing progress and maintaining discipline
