Teaching Assistant

Have you previously been a Teachers Assistant or have experience working within a primary school? A school in Tooting SW17 have a new position available for temporary work with the potential to go permanent.

Your role as the teaching assistant is to support the teacher within the classroom by ensuring all pupils understand their learning, feel confident with what they are learning and are trying to answer the questions posed to them. Your role could be to work 1:1 with students who may be struggling or who are behind within their learning. The teacher may need assistance within the classroom to take on small group activities or to support children in certain subjects. You must be able to build positive relationships with both the pupils and the staff to thrive at this school. As schools are on a limited limetable, you will be put onto a rota and could be expected to work from home at times.

Relevant experience would include;

• Working in a Primary school
• Support work
• Early years
• Teaching
• Youth work

Experience working in a primary school is preferred but is not essential within this role. Hours are from 8:30-15:30, Monday to Friday.
