Teaching Personnel work closely with an SEMH provision in the Leyland, Lancashire area who are seeking a Teaching Assistant immediately!

The School is a smaller than average secondary school and the pupils who attend school have additional needs including; Autism, ADHD, SEMH Difficulties, ODD and challenging behaviours. The school predominantly caters for male pupils across KS3 / 4 and many of the pupils do struggle to manage their own behaviour and emotions, therefore candidates must be resilient, empathetic and confident in their behaviour management skills.

The role is to start as soon as possible and will continue until December initially, although there is scope for the role to continue beyond this.

You do need to be a car driver to apply for this role as an element of your role will include travel for outreach work! You will likely spend a lot of your time working on a 1:1 basis with pupils and you must be, hard working, have a good sense of humour and ideally have experience engaging pupils in education who are often disengaged.

The role will require you to support pupils in a range of subjects, assist the teacher in managing the behaviour of the class, provide the pupils with emotional support and work closely within a close and supportive staff team!

The candidate must be available full time, able to work from 8.30am - 3.30pm monday - friday, be available one day this week to go and meet the head teacher and have some experience working with pupils with SEN / SEMH difficulties.

The pay for this role will be between GBP70 - 75 per day and candidates must be available to start on 28th September at the latest!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
