Teaching Assistant - Specialist Autism Support
GBP65-85 per day

Teaching Personnel are working with an Outstanding OFSTED graded Primary School in North Leeds near Cookridge who are looking to appoint an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant. The school is a 2 form entry primary school that has a large number of pupils with Special Educational Needs, you would therefore be joining a team of exceptionally experienced support workers and teaching assistants, working closely with them to support the needs of children in school.
Working as a specialist teaching assistant you will need to have up to date knowledge and experience of how to support children with autism and the challenges this brings to their education. Children on the autistic spectrum can have a range of abilities and needs including learning disabilities, speech, language and communication needs, they may be non-verbal and can often display challenging behaviour. You will therefore need experience working with children with Autism and Challenging Behaviour.
Position Requirements
- Have at least 6 months experience of working with children with Autism
- Hold a level 3 or higher qualification
- Specialist Autism training would be ideal but is non-essential providing you have the experience
- 2 Graded references from education or childcare based employment
- An Advanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
