Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking to recruit experienced Teaching Assistants to work with schools in the Penzance area. The hours are flexible, and you will be provided with an online diary to allow you to keep us updated with your availability.

The ideal candidates will have at least three years’ experience working with children and be confident in a classroom environment. You will need to be pro-active and be able to use your own initiative when working in the classroom. The class teachers will plan and organise work for the students though on occasion you may be required to print additional work sheets, organise, and prepare students work with the teacher’s instruction. You will need to ensure that students are receiving the best possible support by working with them 1:1, in small groups or floating around the classroom and explaining work clearly. We are looking for somebody who can be confident with using new learning methods to find the most effective teaching approach for these students.

Our schools are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants who are dedicated to making students learning as beneficial and fun as possible. You will be required to help with activities such as arts and crafts, PE, story times and computer learning. The school are looking for somebody who can build relationships quickly and can be flexible within different classes to help to make sure the students are not unsettled by a new member of staff.

The ideal candidate will be aware of Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning and Equal Opportunities policies. You will also need a Child Workforce DBS which can be completed during the recruitment process

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
