A specialised school in Bracknell are looking for enthusiastic teaching assistants to join them in January. The school caters for pupils aged 2 to 19 who have additional needs such as Severe Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Condition and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities.

The school is committed to providing a safe, secure and healthy environment for all our learners and staff and is looking for someone who will share their values and work positively to make a difference to school life. They were graded ‘good’ by Ofsted in their most recent inspection with ‘outstanding’ in personal development, behaviour and welfare.

The Job Role:

  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
  • Promoting a safe learning environment by adhering to all School guidelines and policies
  • Working 1:1 within class sizes of 6-8 pupils
  • Using creative curriculums as a way of engaging students
  • Using praise, commentary and assistance to encourage the pupil to concentrate and stay on task
  • To provide regular feedback on the pupil’s learning and behaviour to the teacher and SENCO

Minimum Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a capacity including Youth Worker, Schools, Coaching or Nursing
  • Be a team player with excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • A passion for supporting children
  • A DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one at a cost of GBP40 for the DBS and GBP13 for the Update Service.
  • References from your two most recent employers.
  • A full driving Licence as transport can be limited.
