Teaching Personnel are currently working closely with a school in Truro, and we are looking for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) specialists, to work as Teaching Assistants within the school.

The role is working 1:1 with children with SEMH needs and may include you working inside and outside of the classroom on both academic and social development. The role is full time; Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15:30 and has the potential to lead to permanent contracts for the right people. The needs of the children do vary but you are expected to be empathetic and nurturing at all times. You will be in small sized classrooms, close to other TA's and Teacher's and help to support the pupil with daily tasks and challenges set by the Teacher. Although classroom based, you may go outside for outdoor activity and by working closely with the pupil, you can help set and achieve measurable targets to be completed. Lessons may not always go to plan, and you may need to adapt the topic accordingly. 

To be considered for the role, we are looking for people with a background in education, care or sports. Relevant qualifications within coaching, support work, supporting learning or childcare are also beneficial, although not essential. We offer courses at discounted rates to help support you through this role as well as offering free Safeguarding and Prevent training.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
