Teaching Assistant

Job description

Join a secondary school in Bury, supporting pupils aged 11-16 within the SEN department.

  • Full-time Teaching Assistant.
  • Required from September 2020.
  • Supporting students with Special Educational Needs.
  • Mentor and provide support for students on a 1:1 basis within the classroom.
  • Earn up to GBP1400 per month!

The incoming teaching assistant will be assigned to work with identified pupils – ensuring they attend the correct lessons on their timetable and supporting them within these lessons should they require any guidance.

The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside the class teacher to deliver interventions suited to the pupils needs. It will be important to monitor and assess the students’ attainment and behaviour and report this back to the SENCO to ensure relevant action can be taken if required.

Applicants must have previous transferrable experience to work with pupils who have SEN. Any relevant training to work with pupils with autism is also desirable.

Our client school is based in Bury and can be accessed via the M66 and A56 from surrounding areas of Greater Manchester for those who have their own transportation. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transport with links to areas such as Bolton, Rochdale and Prestwich.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
