A school in South Manchester is looking for a versatile, adaptable individual who is able to undertake a variety of different roles on a Teaching Assistant basis.

Requirements for this position:

  • The applicant must be educated to degree level.
  • The required applicant will have aspirations for a long term career within the education sector.
  • A passion for developing the overall academic attainment of secondary school children.
  • Qualifications on a TA basis are desirable though not essential

Highlights of this role include:

  • Working with students with SEN – including those with Autism, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
  • Managing student workloads – ensuring students are challenged in an effective manner, whilst also ensuring that workloads are realistic based on individual needs.
  • Working on a 1:1 basis with students – including those with specific behavioural issues.
  • Working as part of a team, to ensure that work has been differentiated effectively.
  • Ensuring that students pastoral problems are dealt with in a calm manner.
  • Creating educational material/resources that are sufficient in maintaining student engagement.
  • Ensuring students are adhering to both the school’s Behaviour Policy and C

It is expected that the required applicant will:

  • Hold excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Will be able to display patience and resilience when dealing with potentially challenging issues.
  • Be able to successfully track academic progress, as well as monitor day to day factors related to attendance, safeguarding, exam preparation etc.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
